Travel and Safety Tips After COVID-19

Coronavirus has taken a big toll on the tourism industry ever since the lockdown. Not only international but domestic flights and have been banned too! At some places around the world, however, lockdown measures are beginning to ease down, resuming travel operations. The virus is still in our surroundings, though, which means we need to take as many precautions as we can.

Here are a few travel and safety tips you should take after the COVID-19 lockdown is lifted:

  • Get yourself tested!

For your safety as well as the safety of those you’re traveling with, you should get yourself tested for COVID-19 before you plan on traveling. Once your test comes out clear, you can start planning!

You should get tested even if you don’t have any symptoms because you could still be a carrier. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 already, you should avoid traveling altogether!

  • Suit up!

No, not literally. Suit up with your personal protective equipment! Wear an appropriate mask, a pair of gloves and carry bags to keep your essentials! You should also carry some Q-tips to push buttons on ATMs. Try to avoid fingerprint scanners and if you really need to use them, make sure you sanitize your hands before and after you do so.

  • Sanitize, sanitize, and sanitize!

Washing or sanitizing your hands every 15-20 minutes is important! Keep your hands clean because your hands can pick up the virus and transmit it to your face when you touch it. The best way of protecting yourself against coronavirus and other viruses/bacteria is to keep your hands clean.

Share your sanitizer with others around you as well!

  • Don’t touch your face!

Make it a habit to stop touching your face. One of the best ways to stop spreading infections is to keep your hands off your face because your face contains mucosal entrances to your body! We often tend to itch our nose, but it’s time to stop that habit. It’s easier said than done, but it is possible!

  • Practice social distancing

Even after the lockdown has been lifted, there’s no guarantee that the virus isn’t around us. The virus is relatively new and nobody knows how long it’s going to stay here for. Practice social distancing, don’t shake hands and stay at least 6 feet apart in queues and seats.

  • Try to use your private car instead of a bus or airplane wherever possible

Using your private car to travel makes sure that you come in contact with very few people. On the other hand, if you use an airplane or a bus, you’ll come into contact with a lot of other people!

  • Choose your hotels, airlines and buses wisely!

Make sure you choose the brands that have effective safety measures like sanitization and disinfection in place!

So, what are you waiting for? Follow all these travel and safety tips even after the lockdown is lifted because the virus is still here and isn’t showing signs of going away anytime soon!
