TANAPA, or the Tanzanian National Parks Authority, has many national parks and game reserves, as well as aquatic reserves, which cover more than half of the country. It would take a person an entire year to look at and to see all the beauty that is out there. How do you know what to choose and what you want to see? There are so many amazing things to experience. We have put together a guide which will hopefully make it a little easier to ensure that you find the best choices for your interests.

1. Serengeti National Park: The world’s most famous wildlife park. This is an area that is covered with amazing animals and this is the location of the Great Migration. Here you will find all sorts of different animals that will leave you amazed by their beauty.
2. Kilimanjaro National Park: This is the shining mountain that is surrounded by gorgeous plains. There is a hugely diverse option of plants and animals to see here as well.
3. Arusha National Park: This is nestled in northern Tanzania and borders the city of Arusha. It features an amazing choice of differing ecosystems, with grasslands, swamps, craters, and forests all nearby.
4. Rubondo Island National Park: This is a park that is in the region of Lake Victoria, which is the second largest lake in the world. This area is also the source of the Nile River.
5. Lake Eyasi: This is a corner of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area that is a home to the people of the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. This is an incredible lake that is fed by the Sibiti and Baray Rivers.
6. Lake Natron: This is 70 miles outside of Arusha and is an alkaline lake. It is the home and the breeding ground of the lesser flamingo and has a flocking area of more than two million birds.
7. Selous Game Reserve: This is the richest and the most off the record wilderness area. It is possible to really feel how Africa is a world of its own with the isolation and beauty found here.
8. Ruaha National Park: This is one of the most untouched areas of the country. There are over 64 different mammals, as well as many kinds of predators and prey.
9. Mikumi National Park: This is part of the Selous ecosystem and is also the fourth largest park in the country. It is not a large area for tourists, and it is in the middle of the country.
10. Udzungwa National Park: This area is known as the Galapagos of Africa, the Udzungwa Mountains National Park has over 770 different plants and animals.
