Coronavirus restrictions are being lifted in many parts of the world as many countries are facing a decline in active cases and the situation is getting better. But the situation is very fluid as some places witness stage 2 and even stage 3 rounds of infections and have to reverse or change their policies again. Many countries still have certain restrictions to prevent further waves and to keep its residents safe.

Kenya
Kenya has reported over 30,000 coronavirus cases in total as of yet. Thus, the Kenyan government has taken many precautions to lower this load. Here are a few of them:
- Kenya opened its borders to tourists in August 2020, but with certain conditions:
- You need to have a negative coronavirus PCR test result that was done about a maximum of 96 hours before your arrival in Kenya.
- Your body temperature shouldn’t be above 37.5 degrees C.
- You shouldn’t have any flu-like symptoms
- On arriving, you might need to go into a 14-day quarantine depending on your country of origin. This is only valid for passengers from countries that have a high infection rate. This include travelers from the United States. However, the Kenyan government revises these countries on a daily basis according to new updates and risk assessment.
- Kenya has a curfew in place from 9:00 pm to 4:00 am every day. You’re not allowed to go out during these hours unless it’s for emergency purposes.
- You must wear a mask at all public places or you’ll be fined.
- All transportation vehicles can only be full to a maximum of 50% their capacity. This avoids overcrowding and prevents the transmission of infection.

Tanzania
The health checks in place in Tanzania are not as strict. It’s open to all international tourists and you don’t even need a PCR test for COVID-19, unless you have flu-like symptoms and OR the airline you’re travelling to tanzania on requires you to have one. Only then do you need a test recent PCR test to prove that you don’t have COVID. You will on arrival be asked to complete a questionnaire and your temperature will be checked and recorded.
Quarantine is also mandatory only if you’re showing symptoms. Other than that, you can easily travel to Tanzania and there are no restrictions.
